İDSB 29th Council Meeting was held online on 18 July 2020 with the participation of about 20 members from different countries. This meeting that held during the pandemic period, was also recorded as the second online council meeting.
The meeting started with the recitation of the Quran. After his opening speech and reading the agenda of the meeting, Secretary General Atty. Ali Kurt shared information about the 28th Council Meeting action plan and the developments after the 28th Council meeting. Then he gave information about the 4th International NGO Fair and the International African Congress, which we will organize online. Mr. Kurt stated that there are so much problems to organize an NGO fair or other programs physically because of pandemic. That’s why, it is not possible for us to physically organize an NGO fair during this period. However, we started work to conduct our fair online. Our exhibitors will be able to exhibit materials such as promotional brochures and institutional videos at their own stands.
The meeting continued with a short presentation on the latest activities of the International Family Institute (UAE) by Dr. Rabiye Yılmaz Co-Chair of Woman, Family and Youth Commission. She added that they would concentrate in this field by making the “International Family Contract” more functional with the studies carried out under the International Family Institute.
Later, UNIW Asia, Europe and America Desk Head Mr. Umer Farooq gave information about the International Civil Society Academy. Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai gave information about the latest situation in Kashmir and the 2nd International Kashmir Conference that we will hold online. President of Humanitarian Aid Platform Mr. Hakan Musab Aydın also gave information about the latest developments and about the directive. It is stated that these programs will be organized online. It was welcomed by members that the programs would be held online.
Finally, Young UNIW representative Mr. Ismail Şenbaş made a short presentation about latest activities and 15th International Youth Gathering “Dijital World after Covid-19” which would be held online. He also gave information about the "Online Ramadan" programs held during the pandemic period.
After the presentations, participants shared their opinions. All of the participants expressed their satisfaction with the meetings and activities held online by UNIW during the pandemic period. In addition, it was decided that the next meetings would be held on one or two main topics in order to focus on the issues in more detail.
The meeting ended with the thanks message of General Secretary to the all participants.
