The Azzagra Cultural Foundation was founded in 1993 to work in the humanitarian field after the “Alqueria de Rosales Campus” project, which includes cultural, academic, social and environmental activities in the region during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, it established an Andalusian research center, as it pursue to preserve works of Islamic culture and of Andalusia, making it the main objectives of the foundation.
Prof. Dr. Antonio Romero Roman
He Born in 1953 in Granada, Abdus Samad Antonio Romero Roman is an academician working on Islamic sciences and active in social fields.
Professor Romero Roman studied at Umm Al Qoara University in Mecca between 1985-96 and specialized in Arabic language, pedagogy and Islamic philosophy. From 1997 to 1999 he studied sociology and Islamic sciences at al-Azhar University and al-Feth Islamic University in Damascus.
From 2010 to 2014, he served as Chairman of the Islamic Manuscripts Agency (TIMA) and Vice President of the Andalusian Ecological Agriculture and Biodiversity (CAAE) Committee.
Currently the President of Azzagra Cultural Foundation, as well as the Chairman of Andalusian Studies Faculty and Alqueria de Rosales. He is also recognized as a specialist involved with the General Assembly of Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which operates under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
At the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World, he is a member of UNIW Council. Romero Roman speaks fluent Spanish, Arabic and English. He is married and has one child.
