Afro-Asian Forum of Cooperation and Development Held in Istanbul

The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW) together with Asia-Africa Cooperation Council had organized Afro-Asian Forum of Cooperation and Development on 25th-26th of April 2019 at Kaya Fair & Convention Hotel, Istanbul.

The program had gathered around 200 participants arranging from non-governmental organizations, politicians and opinion leaders coming from 40 countries around the world. The two days program received wide participation and had discussed on various topics regarding cooperation and development, through the presentations by non-governmental organizations on their works in their respective countries.

The Secretary General of UNIW, Atty. Ali Kurt, had highlighted in his speech, “The world has come to Turkey, as various NGOs and organization had gathered for this event. If anyone wants to get an overall view of the Muslim Ummah, they can just look at the diversity of this forum’s participants”.

The Secretary General of UNIW, Atty. Ali Kurt; Chairman of the Asia-Africa Cooperation Council, Mr.Munir Said; President of the Palestinian Commission of the Jordanian Parliament, Mr. Yahya Es-Saud; Deputy Chairman of the AK Party and Foreign Relations Officer, Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz; Chief Advisor to the President, Em. Brigadier. General Adnan Tanriverdi Pasha; Vice President of Turkish Red Crescent, Mr. Ismail Hakki Turunc; TMMOB Chamber of Landscape Architects, Istanbul Branch President, Mr. Murat Ermeydan; AFAD Vice President, Mr. Ismail Palakoğlu and from the Sufi movements important names such as Mr.Muhammed Murtaza from Muridi Sufi Movement; Mr. Sadik Tanrikulu from Hayrat Foundation; and Mr, Mahmut Eren fron Ismail Aga Organization attended the event.

In addition to the presentations on the topics of education, family and media, that took place throughout the event, there were also exhibition booths that were opened by non-governmental organizations and commercial firms along the forum.

The program ended with a group photo session.
