UNIW Meets Officials in Yemen
UNIW General Coordinator, Mr Abdulhamit Erten; AFAD President, Mr. Mehmet Gulluoglu; AFAD Head of Improvement Department, Mr Mahmud; and Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Ismail Catakli, had made a visit to Yemen on 14th January 2019.
We Congratulated Governor Ali Yerlikaya and Wished Success for his New Position
We visited Mr. Ali Yerlikaya in his office who recently appointed as the Governor of Istanbul and congratulated him on his new appointment. In the meeting, we gave information about the projects of the UNIW and the NGO Fair which will be held on November 17-18 and we invited him to the opening of the fair. Mr. Governor noted that he would participate in the program. He thanked us for the visit and expressed his appreciation for the existence of International NGO Umbrella Organizations such as UNIW in a city like Istanbul. Mr. Governor who was born in Konya in 1968 previously served as the governor of Gaziantep.
Visit to Ministry Of Finance and Treasury
We’ve talked with Nurettin Nebati who recently appointed to Vice President of Ministry Of Finance and Treasury. We wished him success by congratulating him on their new appointment. We shared information about the projects of the UNIW and the Sokullu Complex. We gave information about the NGO Fair to be held in November and invited him to its opening. They noted that they will participate in the program if appropriate.
Visit to Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services
We visited Mr. Ahmet Koca in his office who was newly appointed as Vice President of Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services and conveyed our best wishes. We shared information about the recent projects of the UNIW, the NGO fair and our activities on the axis of the International Family Institute. He was very pleased with our visit and expressed the pleasure of hearing the existence of NGOs who are working in this direction.
Visit to Turkish Red Crescent
We held a meeting with General Manager of Red Crescent Mr. Ibrahim Altan in his office. Information was given about the projects of the UNIW. Veysel Karani Association President Mr. Salah Bates submitted information on the latest situation in Yemen. The fate of two ships carrying aid supplies to Yemen in the past years and the problems experienced during the distribution of these aids were consulted.
Visit to AFAD
We visited AFAD CHAIRMAN Dr. Mehmet Gulluoglu in his office. President of Yemen Veysel Karani Foundation Salah Batis was also present. An evaluation was made about the aid ships sent to Yemen in the past years. The hitches and problems were criticized.
