12th Gathering for Developing the Associations Conducting Activities for Africa

12th Gathering for Developing the Associations Conducting Activities for Africa

50 NGOs from 13 countries conducting activities in Africa came together with NGOs in Turkey organizing activities in many different fields in Africa, and handled what they could do for their common and sensitive concern.

Many NGOs including Beşir Association, Diyanet Foundation, İHH, İhlas Foundation, Architectures and Engineers Group, Doctors Worldwide, and Engineers Worldwide, ASDER and ASSAM conducting activities in Africa in education, health and charity participated. The Chairman of Al Muntada Al İslami Trust Halid Favvaz delivered the opening speech. He mentioned about education, health and charity activities of England-based organizations in Africa and underlined what could be done together. Muhammed Ahmed Luh delivering the second speech as welcoming mentioned about what NGOs can do for Africa. Atty. Ali Kurt, Secretary General of UNIW hosting the organization delivered a speech the framework of which can be summarised by the following utterance as “Africa is the future of the world.” pursuant to welcoming NGOs and foundations that came to Turkey for participative gathering saying “Welcome to Turkey, your second homeland”.

Following the speeches, relevant NGOs and foundations made presentations and introduced their completed projects by informing about such topics as their field of activity and institutional structure. Throughout gathering, such NGOs ad foundations as Beşir Association, Diyanet Foundation, İHH, İhlas Foundation, Architectures and Engineers Group, Doctors Worldwide, Engineers Worldwide, and ASDER (ASSAM) presented detailed images and information.

Following gathering, face-to-face conversations were had and what can be done together was detailed. Inter-institution visits were paid. Consequently, this gathering hosted by UNIW and organized by Al Muntada Al İslami Trust created new communication and cooperation network, and opportunities for more fruitful and sustainable activities for Africa increased.
