Consultation Meeting between AFAD and NGOs on Yemen Axis

Upon the request from AFAD, a consultation meeting was held on how to act jointly on the axis of Afad-Kızılay-TDV and NGOs on the axis of Yemen. At the meeting, the head of AFAD, Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, General Manager of Kızılay, Dr. İbrahim Altan and NGO representatives were present

The meeting started with a presentation about the work of AFAD and Red Crescent in Yemen and the humanitarian situation in Yemen. In the presentation, information was given about the activities of NGOs that carry out aid activities in Yemen.

Mehmet Güllüoğlu, who took the floor afterwards, gave information about the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and the visit to Yemen, which was carried out together with the UNIW. He shared the details of the meetings held with state officials in Aden. He gave information about the current situation of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. In addition, İbrahim Bey made a presentation about the works of Kızılay.

Then, what can be done in terms of coordination of aid to be sent to Yemen was discussed. It was stated that the İYP within the body of UNI could be actively mobilized on the Yemen axis, and UNI could act as a coordination center between NGOs and public institutions on this axis.

Later, when this issue started to mature, it was stated that NGOs would be contacted again and the meeting ended.
