Participation in 6th Provincial Organization Meeting of Turkey Family Platform

The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW) had attended the 6th Provincial Organization Meeting from 19-20 November 2016, through Turkey Family Platform (TURAP). Hatice Beser, Coordinator of International Family Institute and Corporate Relations Coordinator, Esra Karabal also joined the meeting.

Hosted by Ministry of Family and Social Policies, the event was attended by AYSIT Platform for Non-Governmental Organization which has 72 members from 50 NGOs in the Member Status, across 12 provinces; 122 NGO representatives along with local public and universities and one press media that is Turkish Republic Press Agency; making a total of 195 attendees.

At the meeting, MP Ravza Kavakçı Kan, Member of Parliament Leyla Şahin Usta, Mayor of Darıca Şükrü Karabacak, Turkish Republic Ministry of Family and Social Policies Director General of Community Services Muhammet Örnek and the Governor of Düzce, Zülküf Dağlı had made their speech.

On the first day of the meeting, Alpaslan Durmuş, Chairman of the Board of Education and Training for the Ministry of National Education, discuss New Areas of Activity for CSOs, focusing on Family and Family; and Makbule Okat, Project Implementation Specialist for EU Ministry on 2017 made presentations on “EU Grant Programs and Opportunities for National CSOs”.

On the second day of the meeting, roundtable discussions were held within the scope of evaluating challenges and developing solution proposals to improve programs efficiency throughout TURAP headquarters, units and commissions. The discussion groups are divided into; TURAP Head office, TURAP Disabled and Famiyl Unit, TURAP Women and Family Unit, TURAP Gender and Family Commission, TURAP Addiction Commission, TURAP Sport Working Group TURAP Child Abuse Working Group, TURAP Youth Working Group, TURAP Children and Youth Work Group and TURAP Training Working Group.

The results of the concurrent roundtables were presented by the moderators to the participants.
